Yeah, that’s pretty much the nail on the head.

So let me get this straight;
Shihad are a bunch of Kiwi’s that started out life as an Irish band in New Zealand, they have now moved on to more heavy rock sound relocated to Melbourne, changed there name to Pacifier because Shihad sounded too much like Jihad, then changed it back because nobody cared…

This is a very special band… But they do sound good

I remember that drop kick murphys gig..very entertaining

Thanks for the info guys, Blamemonkey, Shihad were kiwi’s but now they are a Melbourne band.

They’ve also transitioned from their irish roots to rock, which given the fact that they were a crap irish band, can only be a good thing.

Actually, Maelinar: The Dropkick Murphys are another CeltPunk Band, especially on the album “Sing loud, sing proud”. I saw them years ago at the Gypsy Bar (RIP)…

Maelinar, I know some decent Irish whiskey, if you drink enough of that its kind of like a heavy metal Pogues experience…

I was thinking the same thing.

Um aren’t Shihad Kiwi’s???

I’m all over this one, sounds a treat.

Maelinar: Flogging Molly sounds a bit like the Punk Pogues. http://www.floggingmolly.com/
As a matter of fact, I’m putting it on right now…perfect soundtrack for dreaming about after work beers…

Konrad, you know any decent celtic/irish stuff ?

Kind of like the sound of heavy metal pogues. (not that their stuff is considered light rock in the first place).

On a side note, when I first saw Shihad they were a crappy irish band that played their irish music with a heavy metal overtone, and they sucked badly.

this would be the perfect riotact get together.
