Chief Minister Katy Gallagher has announced the release of a guide to community engagement.
“This is part of my commitment to the Canberra community to lead an open and transparent Government that encourages participation by citizens in the governing process and public collaboration on a range of issues,” Ms Gallagher said.
“This Guide will help to deliver on these ‘open government’ priorities.”
The Guide has a focus on contemporary community engagement strategies, techniques and tools, and is based on the work of the International Association for Public Participation.
“The Guide is another tool at our disposal to help ensure a consistent and considered approach to our interactions with Canberrans,” Ms Gallagher said.
“It provides practical advice on how to create meaningful opportunities for public involvement in the governance of the ACT.”
