Good to see Wolf Hall on that list, a genuinely important book for understanding the birth of modernity.

A bit of a worry the soft core pr0n is the number one service of our library system.

And good also to see Canberran’s using the DVD loan service to stretch their minds. Spiderman 2 is a very important story, and deeply affects us all.

I know right. Bonesaw McGraw wasn’t even in that one.

Hmmm no Jeremy Clarkson. Philistines!!!

Can’t believe “The God Delusion” didn’t make the cut. I waited so long for it I forgot it existed. Caused a bit of confusion when the email finally came through!

Soft core p0rn also tops the list of most popular ebook borrowings. Bit sad really.

The deal I had with a former gf was this:
You don’t make fun of habit X, I won’t mention your proclivity for reading bodicerippers.

Let them keep their shameful choices.

I’m having an Avenue Q moment: “The library is for porn…”

I think a large percentile are elderly people who use the library services (though I love to use it myself). Most grannies I know love Mills&Boon.

Wolf Hall won last year’s Man Booker prize. Chris Hitchens wrote an excellent review for The Atlantic.

Looks like I will have to borrow Wolf Hall – must say I’ve never heard of it before!

Good god, that last para was incoherent. It should have read:

The ACT library system has an amazing scope and depth of content. I’ve got a small plugin installed in Firefox that allows me to search the catalogue serches from a contextual menu, and while I’m surfing the net and checking out recommendations I’m consistently amazed at how much quality reference, fiction and music is free for the asking through our libraries. Fantastic resource!

Wolf Hall was brilliant – well worth the wait to borrow it, and can’t wait for the sequel.

As for the soft core pr0n, I don’t know what its percentage is of the library’s total content but I’ll bet it’s tiny. Still, people will borrow what they want.
