Motorists line up with the Liberals

The ABC reports what has long been suspected with Chic Henry’s affection for the local Liberals:

Australian Motorist Party candidate Chic Henry says he expects to be branded ‘anti-Labor’ over his decision to ask voters to give their second preferences to the Canberra Liberals.

The former Summernats organiser is a candidate in the Ginninderra electorate in October’s election and says he would also back the Liberals to help form a minority Government.

Mr Henry concedes he could be viewed by voters as being ‘anti-Labor’.

“I’m sure some people see us that way and to be quite honest I’m not going to suggest that people even consider Labor,” he said.

“If that’s the way I’m going to be branded then so be it.”

But Mr Henry says if he held the balance of power, he would vote on issues in the Assembly on a case-by-case basis.

We asked Chic for a statement on this yesterday and are still waiting.

The Greens position was previously declared. This is new.

Try to learn the difference.

Except at the last election, the Greens denied they were Labor stooges – claiming independence and all that. You might think they are being open, but Greens election propaganda piece this week said they will support the community if the government makes bad decisions. Not really true.
