In what I hope will be a regular feature the Movie Discussion Group are sending in their verdicts of the films they go to see.

CHILDREN OF THE SILK ROAD is a very interesting story, shot beautifully in China. (the Gobi desert is particularly superb). The second half of the film, involving a trek with 60 orphaned children across hundreds of miles, is the most engaging part of the tale. One group member felt the direction, script and acting are amateurish in the first half, but the rest of the group disagreed.
Group rating: three-and-a-half stars (out of five)

The Movie Discussion Group meets once a week to see a movie and then go for coffee afterwards to discuss. There are no membership fees. For more information, or to join our emailing list, contact us at movie_group@yahoo.com.au.

Got a local group that wants to deliver a verdict? (Not movies, that’s now taken) Then use the contact page to let us know.

Nope, nothing to say, if i want to read reviews on movies i’d go to IMDB or rottentomatoes..

I guess i’ll have to trawl through the rubbish then…

Or maybe start your own site so you can control what’s posted…

Odd you should say that on a contribution not written by me. It was the movie group’s first outing so I posted it for them.

Anything to say about the movie?

If not please continue this discussion privately.

This might as well be called the johnboy forum…. what’s with the plethora of inane posts.. !? With the multitude of posts per day the majority will slip below the front page and be all but lost.
