Moving it closer to Mardi Gras too.

my birthday is on the 17th (paddy’s day) so I object!

i only live in the a.c.t. due to the holiday on my birthday. otherwise i’d be on the beach at noosa or similar

eh, whatever, so long as it’s still a day off

Andrew Barr ?

Really, who gives a shit?

is canberra day 12th or 20th ?

Canberra Day is held on the third Monday in March each year, the culmination of a 10 day Celebrate Canberra festival where Canberrans are able to celebrate the physical beauty, and cultural diversity and vibrancy of their city. The Day commemorates and celebrates the official founding of Canberra on 12 March 1913. The Canberra Citizen of the Year is named at this time.

Odd that the lead up is not until after canberra day.

If canberra day is the 12th March – then one would assume that the P/H woul dbe as close to that as possible which this year would be the actual day.

As for when it is celebrated, Im not too fussed – I have flex for my birthday.

don’t the ACT government have anything better to do?

They could be closing schools or building single lane highways instead of wasting time moving Canberra day.

As long as I still get a holiday for it, I don’t really care.

Well having a birthday on the 11th I like the idea Danman 😛

plus paddys day is on the 17th – makes for a good few days..

I object – having a birthday of the 19th of march – I always celebrated with a 3 day weekend.

No objections, but had always thought the birthday was on the 20th, or was that the opening of Parliament House… It’s so long ago now, and I wasn’t even in Canberra at the time.
