ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery in the city last night (Friday, August 20).

Around 6.00pm, a 21-year-old man was walking along Bunda Street in the city. As he walked past a laneway next to Blades Menswear, an unknown man has pushed a sharp implement up against the victim’s back and demanded cash.

The victim handed over a sum of money to the offender who then left the laneway and headed towards the bus interchange.

The offender is described as Asian in appearance, aged in his early twenties, and was clean shaven. He was wearing a grey coloured zip up “hoodie” jumper, dark blue jeans and dark green converse runners.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have seen a man matching the above description in the city area around 6.00pm yesterday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Yeah, this blows my mind. That place is literally teeming in the evenings, even on weekdays, and it doesn’t say he went in the alley, just past it.

6pm on a Friday evening in the city and you get mugged. That’s a bit bloody rough!
