mully cup

It’s been a bumper month for news, but here in the Eagle’s Nest we’re not feeling the love for a Mully Cup winner.

So before we give up and decline to declare a winner we’re throwing it over to you dear reader.

Who or what do you think deserves this prestigious award for inspiring public debate?

I think the McKellar house explosion was on it’s way to being worthy of the coveted Mully Cup. It’s a shame the comments had to be removed.

In acknowledgement of the heated discussion that wasn’t.

Just as well it was pulled. We wouldn’t want the story to blow up out of control.

the house fire in McKellar… especially due to their sending in the heavies…

me; just ’cause i could do with cheering up…

or krats, for his/her comment on the not driving home post-cup celebrating thread today [notwithstanding the criteria for claiming the mully is the generation of a slew of comment; but bugger that! mully epitomises a f*** you attitude, innit?]

How about HM the Queen?

Reason: for not giving a curtsy to our Prime Minister.

How about HM the Queen? “We were gratified to receive this gift from the people of Canberra, and assure them that they will remain in our memory for many years to come, and that every time we gaze upon this unique reminder of our happy hours in Australia’s capital city, the echoes of the many kind wishes of the inhabitants will cheer my husband and I, however many thousands of miles may then separate us from the talented artisans who fashioned the memento.”

I’m just sure that’s how she’d react.

the silly kid driving straight in front of an oncoming bus who said it was still the bus drivers fault.

I guess with time passing on its never ending journey the Wedding Etiquette thread was a while back now. If, by some miracle, that discussion took place in October then that’s my nomination.

It’s gotta be the swan fiddler. He defended himself, used lots of capitals and exclamation marks and then invented the word “involfed”.

Actually, I think you’re right. That was a classic comment. I literally lol’d when I got to the “involfed” part of the response.

You all seem to be forgetting that the Mully Cup is awarded to the story that generates the most discussion here, not whether there was any retaliations and text speak (which is the criteria for FOTM).

…and the event itself has spawned several spin-off threads. + 1 for the Necro-Cygnus-fiddler…

Yep, has to be the swan fiddler and associated flame posts.

Uber-bogan-overlord Amanda Smith of ACT Housing! There’s nobody like a bogan to oppress other bogans (and yes I appreciate the irony). And the setting for the Christmas Bad Wishes saga was the Bega Flats – definitely on Mully Country.

Seriously, you must be from Bega flats yourself??

No dear – leafy Old Inner North home owner – but that’s why I referred to irony – clearly I’m a bogan if I’m dissing a bogan according to my own thesis! : )

I vote “Car v. Bus at the Mall” ( http://the-riotact.com/car-v-bus-at-the-mall/56173 ). There were some terribly written comments in there from teenagers defending how good their friend was at driving. Sophie123, 1810, krystal_moon282, and the driver ‘12345’ all tried to blame other things in the accident. Unfortunately for them a give-way sign isn’t negotiable, so the girl was clearly at fault.

It wasn’t up to the usual ‘bogan standard’ of spelling and writing (“text speak”) to automatically qualify for the Mully Cup, but they did spell brake and license incorrectly.

Swan-molester.

I think the McKellar house explosion was on it’s way to being worthy of the coveted Mully Cup. It’s a shame the comments had to be removed.
