P.S. Thanks for the link. My browser or ISP isn’t playing at the moment, but I’ll come back to it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I should talk to you professionally about your mob, because the mob I’m currently with for providing this essential service for my business can goandget@pharked.fh

Thanks, Aurelius. Great to meet you too (and/or two) last night, and my apologies for your getting the ‘hyped up on adrenaline, lack of sleep, a song in my heart and a tune in my pancreas, blood sugar tipping into the red, words now at 119 to the dozen’ version of Overheard.

Lucky it wasn’t an open mic or you could have copped Lounge Lizard Balladeer Overheard — and that’s a very scary place to be and to see. But do come and see us (CUV, Ecopella plus the Shiny Bums) sing on 17 October at the Muse. There is audience participation.

Overheard,
Don’t worry, I can’t spell her name either.
Oh, and for someone who loves music as much as you do, check something out that’s my latest addiction: http://www.coverville.com
Cheers

Yeah, much as I like music across myriad genres from the 1600s to the 16:00 this afternoon, the Animals I never really got into.

‘House of the Rising Sun’ I put in there with ‘Hotel California’ and ‘The Gambler’ on my Fingernails Down The Chalkboard of All Time.

NOW, having soaked up enough music for several weeks already in the past set of seven, while I’m listening to the Karismakatz’s sublime “Burn Baby Burn” on the CD that DJ slung my way on Tuesday, who’s in for their gig at the Soul on Friday night (i.e. tonight)?

In the best of all possible worlds I’d be chilling with my kiddies tonight, but I have to delay that by about 18 hours due to affairs of state with my four-day-a-week-sometimes-five-days-a-week major meal-ticket of a job.

So I plan to soothe my soul with the Karismakatz’s healing blend of blues before I make my ten day coastal escape.

Love to see you there. (And it was great to meet Skidbladnir, Kereces (sp?), Aurelius and Locqua…ness — it’s very late! — tonight at ABN and the Front*, respectively.)

* Oh, what a great place. Had been past the front of the Front many a time (typically when at Tilley’s for a gig) but tonight was my first go inside the Front. Go, go, go. Looking forward to Mr Matty Ellis’s series of gigs there from October.

Ah yes, Eric Burdon, now there was a long haired leaping gnome who could sing the blues…

But since you’re here, what was the name of that Sam Cooke song; the details were in that small packet of brain cells that the pints of light beer attacked.

Great night! The song was “Bring It On Home To Me”. Eric Burdon and his original Animals covered this one and made a shitload of money. But it was Sam Cooke who wrote it.

Christo

Thank you, sir. Of course it was; all coming back to me now! I had a version on a tape of Sam Cooke’s greatest hits more years ago than I care to recall. I love it.

That’s why getting old has been good for me, Overheard!

I would prefer to unzittenboogie though!

Unzippenboogie? I always knew you had a wild streak, Granny.

* I best acknowledge that the term ‘zittenboogie’ comes from a German band (with an Aus connection) called ‘The Beez’ who you MUST see if they come and tour here again. Laugh. Cry. Zitt. Ztand. Disco. Boogie. Folk it up.

Big thanks to the boys from The Bridge Between for running the Musical Madness nights, and to Gianni for welcoming us last night. Christo and I were stoked! The audience connected with our music and we sold some cds!

For anyone having trouble deciding what to do on Thursday night, you can actually see Thumper with the Feldons at The Front, then on FRIDAY night make the southside trek where the KarismaKatz will be playing at the Soul Bar (from 5pm). Also at Olims this Sunday from 2pm. DJ 🙂

Sigh! I should not type under the influence of little sleep:

Ah, spit. Yes, you’re right, KarismaKatz, and I’ve got absolutely no excuse because that came to me in the Live Guide which of course on my settings means that today’s update was only for Friday night.

Mea culpa! That’s FRIDAY night at the Soul Bar. FRIDAY night for the KarismaKatz. Dang me, hang me and slap me with a kipper.

(I’ll be 180kms away so I can’t attend and make up for it in person.)

I would prefer to unzittenboogie though!

*chuckle*
