Backed by a long-running Canberra business, MVP* has broken into the contracting and recruitment markets with fresh new thinking bringing real benefits to clients and candidates. MVP* is the future of work.

It’s easy to see the connotation that MVP* brings to contracting and recruitment – it’s the Most Valuable Player you need on your team when looking for personnel.

Stephanie Gill, Client Solutions Manager, said that the business had been supplying contracted lawyers and paralegals to government, corporates and not-for-profits for a number of years before they officially launched the new MVP* brand in 2017.

MVP* now provides a range of professionals, including project managers, lawyers, paralegals, procurement specialists and policy officers to our clients,” Stephanie explained.

MVP* can provide contractors (sometimes called secondees), teams and standby support from two weeks up to two years. MVP* are now also a registered recruitment agency, so clients also have the option of employing MVP candidates on a permanent on-going or non-on-going basis.

Stephanie moved to MVP* as a Client Solutions Manager in September 2017, having completed an Arts/Law degree from ANU in 2015 and initially working for two years in legal recruitment. Stephanie then spent a year as a Legal Officer in the Attorney General’s Department, before starting with MVP*.

“I jumped at the opportunity to work at MVP. Because it was backed by an established Canberra business, it had all the excitement of a start up without the risks,” Stephanie outlined.

According to Stephanie MVP* is growing rapidly and has almost doubled its business since she started six months ago.

“MVP meets a growing need in Government Departments and other employers for professional services, on flexible terms and at a value-for-money price,” Stephanie said.

MVP has also started placing senior professionals, including lawyers, in the private sector as well.

“It gives our clients more flexibility in meeting immediate needs as they can speak to us and someone can virtually start the next day. It is easier for them as we provide professionally screened staff that can be relied on,” Stephanie smiled.

So, what is a Client Solutions Manager?

“Any new, existing or potential client, that has a staffing need, can contact me directly and I will endeavor to sort it out for them,” Stephanie answered.

“I have oversight of all the clients and talk to clients and candidates on a daily basis. I organise social events for the contractors. Last month we hired a gelato cart and took them gelato on a 38-degree day.”

What does the future hold for MVP*?

“We want to continue to grow and diversify the professional services that we are able to supply. Our aim is to become the go-to solution for all personnel needs for government and business,” Stephanie said.

“We are also going interstate. We already have clients in Victoria and can provide candidates anywhere in Australia.”

In fact, MVP has more than 500 experienced professionals including lawyers, paralegals, project managers, procurement officers and policy officers available for work in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and other locations around Australia.

“Feedback from our clients is that we find them people with the right qualifications and cultural fit – and that is of great benefit to them,” Stephanie concluded.

Stephanie is a citizen of the world. She was born in the USA and has lived in NZ then England and Australia for the last 14 years. She is learning Italian because she is planning a trip to Sicily with her Italian friends. She also loves baking, especially themed cheesecakes – ie Mars Bar Cheesecake – and going to trivia nights with her friends.
