To whom it may concern, some totally sweet mountain bikes are going to be doing mountain bike related things this weekend.

The ACT Government would like to advise the public that The Namadgi Beast, a mountain bike race through the southern parts of Namadgi National Park, is on this Sunday 20 October 2013 from 8 am to 6 pm.

The loop circuit incorporates several fire trails in the area:
— Naas fire trail
— Long Flat fire trail
— Burnt Hill fire trail
— Grassy Creek fire trail
— Old Boboyan Road
— Brandy Flat fire trail
— Gudgenby fire trail.

While event marshals will be on site to manage the flow of traffic, park visitors are urged to exercise caution on these fire trails throughout the day.

For more information contact the Namadgi Visitor Centre on 6207 2900.

Awesome race through some awesome country. not for the feint hearted though, I did a 63km version of this ride that took us 9 hours, what started out as 700m of climbing finished off at over 1800m of climing, 300 of that in the first 6km……man it was tough.
