Regarding Russian Dancing ;

For the last 10 years the ACT Russian Orthodox School with ACT Russian Ethnic Association participated in numbers of different Festivals, presenting Russian dances.

Russian culture has a great variety of dances, fast and slow, funny and serious.

Today we present two dances for you:

Dance #1 – Kids – “Letkajenkka”
Finland’s dance, very popular in Russia from 1960 to the present.
Back in those days in the different counties of the world this dance reached peak of craze.
Total record of “Letkajenkka” came out in 92 countries. Please enjoy.

Dance #2 – Adults – “Valenki”.
Valenki are traditional Russian winter footwear, made of wool felt, the name literally means “made by felting”. In winter, people of Russia, who live in a cold climate, wear such boots.
The “Valenki” song is very popular and tells a story of girl, who has wore out her Valenki boots, but wants to go out and see her boy friend so badly, that she walked barefoot in the snow.
