Police believe a fire that destroyed a single-level house in Narrabundah early this morning was deliberately lit.

ACT Policing said it was treating the fire at Marlee Place as suspicious after analysing the scene.

About 1:30 am police were called to Marlee Place, where the house was reported to be well alight.

The Emergency Services Agency said ACT Fire and Rescue used four pumpers, a breathing apparatus vehicle, and a command vehicle to contain and extinguish the fire.

The ACT Ambulance Service also attended the scene and was not required to treat anyone. The residence was unoccupied at the time.

ACT Policing Criminal Investigations is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Police have asked that anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or have information about the fire, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
