The Queanbeyan Age have reported a story about a nasty five car collision at lunchtime today, along with a request from Police for information on the accident.

QUEANBEYAN Police are continuing their inquiries after a five vehicle crash in town this afternoon.

At about 12.45pm today, a sedan was travelling east on Canberra Avenue and was nearing the intersection of Tharwa Road.

According to Queanbeyan Police, the male driver has lost control of the vehicle and been involved in a collision with two other vehicles.

As a result of that impact the sedan has gone on to hit a further two vehicles near the intersection.

The three cars have then been involved in a collision with a fuel tanker.

The driver of the sedan was taken to Queanbeyan Hospital for further medical checks.

Police are investigating the man’s medical history as a part of their inquiries.

Two vehicles were towed from the scene and the tanker was not damaged in the crash.

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

There most likely all from Struggletown, asking said people a question would most likely result in a dull stare followed by an awkward silence.

Really, the whole ‘struggletown’ thing is so passe and shows no cognitive ability on your behalf to create an original joke.
I’ve lived all over the place and all over the world, good (a mansion) and bad (Kingswood) and I tend to find Queanbeyan far to closer to real than Canberra. I have now lived next to the river for nearly five years and find the wildlife to be amazing: platypus, wombats and kangaroos, red bellies swimming around whilst one is fishing. It is superb. Most people are very polite and tend to walk on the left, what more can you ask for. It probably explains why I see so many ACT plates parked in Queanbeyan.

Wrong, the only reason you see ACT plates parked in Queanbeyan is because this is where our drug suppliers live. Mine lives across the road from the river, has done so for the last 5 years…… oh…… hang on a minute, i think i know you.

It’s a fairly standard comment from a resident of Bland.

…and that’s not even including the wildlife that one can see emerging from the Riverside Plaza or the nearby KFC.

I’d be more insulted if you knew how to spell.

Why don’t they simply ask the five drivers involved? Unless someone is blatantly lying, their version of events should match.
