unfortunately this race meeting has been cancelled due to a lack of nominations….next race meeting is scheduled for sunday 15th feb and is the annual presidents cup

Yes, I have been to Summernats. No, I haven’t been to NatCap Speedway. I have also been to Wakefield Park and Oran Park as some members of my family race motorbikes (against my better judgement). So don’t make assumptions. I am asking valid questions out of interest. Not sure where the agro is coming from there Ferret. My point is, if the Speedway can be developed properly, it would provide a better venue than the Showground.

Would you play a rugby test match at Phillip enclosed?
Would you hold the Australia Day concert in a backyard?

No, as the facilities are insufficient.

Its obvious you have a) never been to Summernats and b) have never been to NatCap Speedway.

You can’t have a car show at a car speedway ? What kind of facilites are required ?

The Fairbairn facility is not comparable to EPIC – and I am guessing you have never been to Summernats and seen that there is a car show going on whilst all the attention seekers do their thing…

I haven’t been to Fairbairn but would be interested to know why they don’t hold Summernats out there. It seems to be built for car events. Is EPIC under the same noise restrictions ?

not really sure on that farnarkler…..the local speedway has to comply with fairly stringent noise restrictions (95 db i think?)as do the other motorsport complexes in canberra……if you were to compare apples to apples i would suspect that there would not be a lot of difference between noise levels from a 410 sprintcar and a top fuel dragster…i would guess the sprinters to be slightly quiter but sustain that level of noise for longer periods than the dragsters that are at full noise for far shorter bursts

I wonder how the decibel level of speedway compares with dragsters.

It’s a great day out, they have a canteen there that sells hot food and drinks, the prices are reasonable.

It is on pialligo ave fairbairn http://www.actspeedway.com.au/Publish/html/location.html
Divisions racing on the day
super production
series production
junior sedans (14-17 yo)
several guest divs that will be confirmed shortly.
