the hq breakaway bandits division will be making a guest appearance at this meeting……these guys always provide a top notch show..I will be competing in super production in the #66 commodore and series production in the # 31 torana….any rioters that come out to watch feel free to track me down and say g’day

oh yea I miss tralee too!!!!

ferret… the long term aim of the club is to provide a venue capable of hosting all divisions in australian speedway…including sprintcars, however this is not going to happen overnight and will require even further upgrades and even more importantly a backflip by act gov to allow night meetings instead of the current daytime only format….this is a possibility in the future but for now the club is just trying to consolidate our position both financially and build a reputation amongst the speedway community as a top quality venue…….there is a very long way to go to achieve this but we are confident that we will get there in the long run……crowd support is what we most need at the present time and we are fully aware that me must provide good shows to achieve this

You should get yourself to Parramatta for a sprintcar show. Now that is a show!

Nothing beats the roar of 18 410ci methanol running Sprintcars at the start of a feature event…

If only Tralee (venue of most Saturday night entertainment for 10 years as a kid, sneaking in the boot with my brother so Mum and Dad didn’t have to pay for us) still existed as a speedway, not a housing estate.

At Avalon on Sat the event was slated to start from 7pm, but there were races on when we got there and the program swed the start as 5pm…. Acordinaly there was a heap of races from 3 classes – super sedans, modified sedans and F500’s…. loved the roar of the V8’s in whatever class that was (super sedans?? – What sort of engines are they?? Chev 350’s? They actually smelt like they were running LPG!!!) – one of them was a turbo 6. The other modified sedans were 6 cylinders. The F500’s were like mini sprint cars, all of them ‘normal’ engines although one was a 2-stroke and it sounded awesome.

Event finished with a dunny race, was so funny, and everything ended at 12:30am, so great value for money for a $20 admission!

I know NATCAP have undertaken a lot of work out there and this is the first season of the new venue – is there any likelihood of eventually running sprintcars, speedcars, Super Sedans, late models etc?

Is the long term aim of the club to provide a club level or professional level venue?

similar but different controlling bodies and some different rules….however they are allowed to race one another…ie:super prod and modprod together…..series prod and production together etc..so the cars and the racing should be similar to avalon..altho the fields may be smaller as avalon had quite a big meeting on the weekend from what i have been told….expect something like 8-12 cars in each div here….which will still be a good show..if you do come out vic come up and say g’day….i will be driving the #66 commodore in super production

Are these the same sorts of cars that race at Avalon speedway near Geelong? Went there on Sat night and it was awesome! If they’re the same sort of cars then I’m going to go for sure!
