SbA would like to welcome onboard Luke Brown who has been contracted to help set up the Skatepark Facility Guide. Luke has been involved heavily with the ACT Hubs for over a year now, and we are delighted to work with him in a full time capacity in regards to this monumental project. Here is a brief overview of what Luke will be helping to set up….

SKATEPARK FACILITY GUIDE

Vision
“To provide Governments and end users with a defined system to ensure acceptable standards of provision and ongoing success in skatepark creation, maintenance and programming.”

Scope
This project aims to develop a Skateboarding Australia (SbA) National Skatepark Facility Guide (the Guide). The Guide will define high level best practice guidance to apply to the processes around the creation, use, maintenance and activation of skateparks.

Structure
The Guide will be structured according to chapters:
1. Why a skatepark
2. What is a skatepark
3. Design
4. Construction
5. Maintenance
6. How to get it funded
7. Activation
