The National Capital Authority is asking for public comment on their plans to hack down trees in the Parliamentary Triangle and along Dunrossil Drive.

The trees have, as always, been adjudged dangerous by people who will be paid to remove them.

You have until 26 November to let the NCA know what you think by emailing peter.beutel@natcap.gov.au .

So, Stanhope has decided that money is well spent pulling down trees in our public spaces that attract visitors but will replace them with 10 per suburb, on private property?

NCA is Federal not ACT Government.

On a related note, I have big concerns for any tree between the lake and the new ASIO building. I strongly suspect that when the men in black find their lake views blocked, a few trees won’t stand in their way for long.

SES and RFS always looking for trees to practice felling on and they are cheap.
