NCA pauses for thought building the Kings Avenue Overpass

By johnboy - 19 August 2010 4

The National Capital Authority is letting everyone know that their concrete pour for the Kings Avenue Overpass is not going to happen on 28 August.

Instead they’re going to have a look at lessons learned from the Barton Highway bridge collapse.

So a blockage on the far distant Barton Highway is going to further delay people getting into Barton. Ironic innit?

What’s Your opinion?

If you want outcomes from the DEEWR building collapse ask DEEWR – after all the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner is part of the DEEWR portfolio. Those security guards are probably loving their job – dedicated bar spaces, theatrettes for watching movies – it’s party time in Marcus Clarke street!

On a related topic, I have been surprised that no-one seems to have made any connection with the DEEWR building collapse. There seem a lot of similarities there. Did we ever hear about investigation outcomes for that one??

No idea, but the three or four security guards who are currently working there (and during night shift) must have either the easiest or most boring job in the world at the moment.

Given it is the same company (so I heard), it seems a prudent move to me.

NCA got orders from Stanhopeless to avoid another Roadside Artwork. They was no more budget for them anywhere other than the GDE.
