2CC has a piece on the serious lack of love for the Raiders on free to air television:

The Canberra raiders have again been snubbed by Channel Nine with just one match of the upcoming season set to be broadcast on free-to-air television.

A draft draw for the first 20 games of the season has shown the Canberra side will have just one match televised.

I’m annoyed because it hurts the club, but at the same time as a foxsports subscriber, glab I can watch the Raiders in glorious HD. Channel Nein (I like that hehe) have crap picture quality and crap commentators.

Still, they finished 6th and to be given 1 TV is ridiculous. Warriors i can understand. They probably have a NZ TV contract and get all the games shown anyway.

They could show Raiders games involving the high rating teams so the TV rating argument doesn’t cut it because the Broncos are getting something like 18 games. Plus will they rate as highly if they play as badly as last season?

What really annoys the bejesus out of me is that the nine balls network show 50 year old movies for the 158th time on their HD channel and the NRL in Ugandan quality SD.
They cannot use the excuse that the original broadcast is not HD because when Fox replay it is in HD.

Don’t get me started on Ray Hadley….

Considering the Raiders ought to be having a serious tilt at the premiership this season, this is gold.
