New Blog Name Required!

Hi there!

I currently have a blog, which themes around my exploits as a 23yr old, single gal in the Nation’s Capital. As you can imagine it’s about boys, boys and more boys. I started it up as a hobby so gave it a pretty tacky name relating to the TV Show Sex and the City.

I’m moving the blog onto it’s own URL so am thinking its a great opportunity to come up with something fresh and new, problem is I don’t seem to have a creative bone in my body when it comes to thinking up a new name.

Hopefully someone out there with a talent for cleverness can help me out?

Some names suggested so far are:

  • O Face
  • Capital Coitus
  • Be Gentle
  • Plucking for Love
  • Intimate Baggage

If you can think of something better, please share 🙂

Well, that didn’t last long, haha.

Are you suggesting her anonymity has become ‘un-kept’? Please Explain?

it takes less than 2 minutes to get her name, mobile number and address. not very anonymous

A whois lookup on her domain reveals her full name, email address, street address and mobile number in under 30 seconds.

I am surprised at the negative comments, but it’s only spurred me on more to progress my blog. Maybe that’s the Gen Y in me.

You shouldn’t be surprised.

A: Canberra is conservative
B: RiotACT is trolled by fuddyduddys aged 40+ who yearn for the old days when kids didn’t talk.
C: Those same fuddyduddys have daughters your age and are either a) wondering if you are one of them or b) worried that their daughters lead the same life as you do.

I read your blog last night and see it as basically what it is, a liberated 23 year old leading a normal Gen Y life.

Good luck.

OR

Maybe most of the people that post here think that creating a narcissistic blog detailing your dating and sexual exploits in a place like Canberra is stupid.

Oh and I agree with hk0reduck’s suggestion.

If she manages to keep her anonymity going, what does it matter?
On the other hand controversy with a thick spread of sex never goes astray and might ultimately lead to a successful blog or even writing a paid column in a newspaper.

Man, you guys need to work on your googlefu. There’s enough information in the OP to work out her facebook, twitter, name & phone number.

Phone off the hook, kids to Mum’s if I had any. It’s trainwreck time baby.

What do you mean you don’t have a creative bone in your body???? From reading you blogs it seems all your ‘bonings’ have been pretty creative!!!

You could call it the “ACT Department of Impotence, Crabs, and Khlamydia” or since we Canberran’s love lame acronyms…. the “ACT DICK”

(yes I am aware that’s not how you spell Chlamydia, however, the last creative bone I had hasn’t called me back so I feel like I can bend the rules!!!

Thank you to those who have provided useful advice/feedback.

I may have been wrong in the way I described my blog, it’s less about sex and more about general dating in Canberra. I do intend to keep myself anonymous however I do understand the risks that come with posting personal information on the internet. I started the blog as a hobby and did not intend to pursue it too far, however due to recent developments I’ve since changed my mind.

As an individual I’m quite open about my life so the information on my blog is no different to what I happily share in the real world. However if you do not agree with what I write about, then the simple solution is not to read it.

I am surprised at the negative comments, but it’s only spurred me on more to progress my blog. Maybe that’s the Gen Y in me.

Was it the Magnet Mart guy?

your PR and writing talents

That’s a very polite way of describing it.

Sexandthecaptial, (what’s with the typo in the url!) you should be much more careful about identifying yourself as a public servant, which you mention quite openly on your blog. This is giving the impression that your ambition is to make a living from posting about sex online and don’t care about the formal ramifications at work – all and good, but it’s far too early to risk your dayjob like this (I don’t actually believe you are a high earner in the PS, just perhaps a little higher than some of your boyfriends). I think well-meaning Rioters will be quite alarmed for you. I’d go further: I think you need to pull the blog and the website plans for now and think about applying your PR and writing talents to something that isn’t inevitably going to be a train wreck. And, if you actually want to be anonymous online (which is sounding unlikely), consult a technical professional. Good luck.

Man, you guys need to work on your googlefu. There’s enough information in the OP to work out her facebook, twitter, name & phone number.

Once again, I believe http://www.MyKidsWillClawTheirEyesOutWhenTheyPlayLetsGoogleMummy.com is the most appropriate response.

Well I must be completely clueless… mind you I have never watched sex and the city so I have no idea what JB’s clue means, but all sorts of googling on JB’s clues fail to elicit any meaningful links that I can see. Is it so hard to just put the link or the name of the blog, after all it is a frickin’ blog and isn’t the purpose of a blog to be read?

I had the same problem, not through a lack of trying though. Just think of all the new readers you will gain if you tell us.

“Country Views”.

Failing that, a “Bush Capital” riff.

Really… must you ?

Just make sure you make everything ALWAYS anonymous so no-one can link it to you. Ever.

Like many Carrie wannabes, my partner LoveBumps did something similar in the early noughties. She used a false name, lied about locations and changed names to protect the innocent and the underperformers. Except once when she told the truth about leaving a friend’s party with a minor celebrity. It was reported in gossip mags and she wanted the extra clicks I guess. But that was enough for her name to get out. And because it’s not terribly common, pretty easy for others to find her address.

Despite having moved cities she still gets intermittent fan mail – mostly emails, mostly nice, no million-dollar film offers unfortunately. But one year there was a Christmas Card signed off with ‘I have started day release and would love to meet you sometime’.

That’s not the sort of thing you want to receive when your life has moved on.

Good point. BlondieACT 1. had perhaps better not be a professional in any other capacity than prostitute, and 2. might be wise to consider remaining childless!
