New Federal Liberal candidate

By Thumper - 21 August 2006 13

IBN news is reporting that the ACT Liberal Party has announced that Natalie Colbert is their candidate for next year’s federal election.

“Ms Colbert is a flight lieutenant with the Royal Australian Air Force.

Party president Gary Kent made the announcement at the annual ACT liberal party dinner tonight, in front of more than 300 party faithful and the Prime Minister John Howard.

The Liberal Party has won the seat of Canberra on three previous occasions and next year we aim to make it a fourth. Our campaign to win Canberra starts tomorrow”, said Mr Kent.

A snowflakes chance? What say you?

A photo of Natalie playing warries can be seen on RAAF news.

What’s Your opinion?

It’s a pity she isn’t running for local government. The local mob need some talent and a direction….

the_ruler 2:09 pm 31 Aug 06

Geez, you would think you could give her a slight go at least. I think it’s about time the Libs put up a decent female candidate, and coming from the Navy at least we know she’s got some go in her!!!

Nat, you should write in and explain yourself!!!

Was a range shoot at Majura. Demo and Yippee… 😉 we were testing the affect of hyrdodynamic penetration on armoured targets. The AFP and DSTO were involved.

I’ll think about the photo 😉

BTW,

obviously not a range photo. Then again, there’s a set of headphone on the ground.

Let’s see, F89, L1A1, F88, and of course the old 84mm Gutsake.

Was it a demo shoot or just a yippee?

Thumper 8:08 am 25 Aug 06

hehehehe.

Send us a photo Nat. I’m sure JB will post it.

The Charlie Gutsake was in service long before I served, and that was in the 80s!

Oh, and all the best.

Thumper, I think I would prefer a snow-balls chance (a big snow-ball, more like an avalanche??)

Big Al, thanks for the Bazooka call, I wish I had a better photo for you. simto, I’ll tell Mick (black boots man) that you could recognise that he wasn’t me.

I do hope that isn’t the only photo to ever make it out – I ‘ll do something on that shortly…It isn’t really flattering. I’m not going to answer the eye-candy comments 😉

Pandy, the Karl Gustav 84 is an old weapon 😉

Big Al 5:46 pm 24 Aug 06

Whilst Vicki Dunn has certainly been doing her bit to reduce the ACTs birth rate and some decent representative eye-candy is long overdue – I suspect that the ADF connection won’t be enough in its own right to get her over the line. The system we have favours celebrity to the extent that voter recognition of candidates probably plays as important a part as party affiliation. As case in point would be the election of that dip-stick Paul Osborne …

kimba 5:22 pm 24 Aug 06

She’s not a bad looker…better then the old hags that represent us now! There is a trend for good-looking young chicks being elected to parliament…and Canberra has a big ADF vote so she may have a chance.

Pandy 4:08 pm 21 Aug 06

Big Al you cheeky bastard.

She is holding Howies new weapon against illegal immigrants.

Do you think the media will run that shot whenever Natalie is mentioned ala David Hicks?

Mr Evil 12:04 pm 21 Aug 06

“…not the bloke with the ill-matching black boots.”

Hey, he’s just trying to save the ADF some money by bringing his own Doc Martens along for the day.

simto 12:00 pm 21 Aug 06

Hm – I’m guessing the photo’s mildly mislabelled, and she’s actually the woman with the sunglasses on her head, not the bloke with the ill-matching black boots.

Big Al 11:35 am 21 Aug 06

I’ve got to say – she’s certainly got a nice pair of bazooka’s!
