On the subject of Alexander and Albermarle Buildings – they are DAs in to replace them with mixed use residential/retail spaces. I am interested to see if the demolition can be completed without squishing this art flat.

both buildings have had DAs for ages…wonder what the hold up is. they haven’t been occupied since early 2010.

Lease Variation Charge I’ll wager

The police have been using them for training exercises, no idea when that will end.

It’s just a patch job on the derelict buildings behind.

It looks like something from a Tool music video (that’s not a bad thing).

Like. Very much.
(Also see them play 4 times)

I assumed David was exploring the dodgy practice of pinching all the copper pipe from the long empty buildings in the background.

It reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. I’m pretty sure she was related to Medusa.

That’s not very original – unless it’s by the same person, it’s just a plagiarism of the “art” outside the Canberra Theatre in City.

Both are by David Jensz – Fractal Weave at the theater and Culture Fragment in Woden. The description of the work is ironic considering the divisiveness of public art

I live fractal weave more but I find his works very tactile

Finally, a shrine to the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

May you be touched by his noodly appendage.

I always preferred Protoss to Zerg

More cack. How much did this “art” cost?

It’s a looming menace…

And I think I like it, but I’ll have to see it myself.

Finally, a shrine to the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

the unravelling of society…

I for one welcome our new textile overlords.

It’s creepy, and in no way assisted in being likeable by the location – graffitied wall, boarded up door, drab building. Probably the worst so far – did no one think of the location? Having said that, no doubt that building is earmarked to become a shiny metal and glass monolith in the near future.

I took a photo of it at lunch the other day too. Personally, I really like it.

[this is my one]
