It’s confirmed that the Canberra region will get its third Kmart this year.

However the sneaky way they obtained the ground floor of City Link Plaza is noteworthy, I know most tenants weren’t happy with the sudden cancellation of their leases at relatively short notice. I only know of a handful of stores having successfully relocated since being kicked out before Xmas. Is Barilaro still against the idea now that he’s gone from Councillor to MP?

There’s even a “No Kmart for Queanbeyan” facebook profile:

I don’t see why Westfarmers is intent on competing with itself by continuing to open Kmart and Target within spitting distance of each other. I wouldn’t see a Kmart opening as a good thing, all they sell is absolute crap.

I’m surprised Kmart didn’t move in sooner: $2 wife beaters, $30 microwave – business plan just made for Quangers.

I’ve actually wonder why Big-W didn’t move in in the past?

Interesting. I was wondering why City Link Plaza had been cleared out.
