I direct your attention to Page 14 of today’s Canberra Times.

“ONE of the stars of the new WIN-TV crime blockbuster Underbelly has a link to Canberra. Callan Mulvy, who plays Melbourne criminal Mark Moran, is best mates with former Canberra girl Lara Cox, who starred with him in the Heartbreak High television series on ABC.”

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! So Drazic was mates with Anita who used to live in Canberra. Big F$ Woopie!

And the Canberra Times wonders why it is losing reader numbers…

I went to school with Hayley Jensen, I’ve been told. Apparently, she was one of the Christian chicks which is why I had no f-king clue who she was.

Defecate on my face, Meconium.

Jackie Chan, too…

LOL@”Mark Webber can’t count”

But of course I rooted a girl who rooted a guy who rooted a girl who rooted a guy who rooted a girl who rooted SHANE CRAWFORD.

Alright I spose. For a bloke.

And was he really, really, really ridiculously good-looking?

Jean Claude Van Dam (sp?) used to hang out at the old Mawson Raiders club. Apparently his parents are local.

Its in Wikipedia, so it must be true.
But could he turn left?

(if we’re doing born in Queanbeyan/lived in Canberra stars). I read that he was once the highest paid male model in the world.

And of course there was Lazenby. George Lazenby.

Canberra has the mighty Che !

He walks, the talks, he does other stuff…

Che would have to be the most famous Canberran I know, and I work with a whole lot of them.

If you’re claiming AIS alumni surely the brightest would be Lauren Jackson.

Maelissa Doyle went to uni in canberra and her in-laws are here, but her original roots are in Sydney.

‘The idol chick’ is Hayley Jensen.

If we’re claiming people who went to uni here, there’s Peter Garrett and Tim Freedman from the Whitlams.

Well, for sports stars Canberra goes alright…

Aussie Rules = James Hird, Alex Jesaleunko and that arsehole who went to St Kilda
League = Brad Clyde, Ricky Stuart
Union = George x 2, Larkham, Roff

…and can’t we lay claim to any athlete that went to the AIS. Michael Klim used to live at the Sanctuary you know, haha.

Canberra also has me, the best thing ever.

Queanbeyan has heaps of sport stars don’t they? Isn’t there a museum full of it?

Canberra only has Melissa Doyle, Paul McDermott, Helen Razor, Jackie Chan (tenuous connection), and Imogen Bailley.

…but Mark Webber rocks!

Oh, and Hotdogs is a fcking moron.

“And before anyone says Mark Webber, he doesn’t count, he was born in Queanbo.”

And before anyone says Mark Webber, he can’t count, he was born in Queanbo.

Hotdogs is from Canberra? The shame!

What about the idol chick?

Is Hotdogs still the biggest Canberran celeb?

And before anyone says Mark Webber, he doesn’t count, he was born in Queanbo.

It was obviously only an excuse for a hunky photo for those who prefer hunks to boobs. Personally I get my fun from the seniors special lift out and R S Gilbert’s letters.

I heard that her father is John Stanhope. Yes, THE John Stanhope.

I’ve heard that her father owns (owned) the Ainsle Football Club.

Are they serious?

Actually I’m more shocked by the fact that someone has actually hired Callum Mulvy again…

It’s not in the general news section, it’s in the odds and ends and gossip page that covers that sort of stuff.

It’s the equivalent of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Stay in Touch section which covers exactly the same sort of lightweight stories.

I went to primary school and college with Lara, and she lived in the same street as a mate in Kaleen. She always seems ok to me. Always seemed to have time for a smile and hello. She was not at our 10 year reunion, wonder if she would recognise me?

Oh and she was in a tropfest film too… good on her…

thats probably why it only made page 14. I’d be particularly concerned if it was on page 1.
