Nicholls house blaze

ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Ambulance Service are currently on scene at a house fire in Numbat Place, Nicholls.

The fire is well alight and has gone through the roof space.

Update to follow.

5:17 AM

Firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire. The roof of the single story house has collapsed.

Four occupants of the house safely self-evacuated. One occupant is being transported to Calvary Hospital by Intensive Care Paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Three pumpers, a Breathing Apparatus Van and two Commanders are currently on scene.

Time of Triple Zero (000) call 4:49am.

5:41 AM

The fire is now extinguished. Firefighters will stay on scene to conduct mopping up operations and continue monitoring for hotspots.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined with investigations to commence later this morning.

Estimated damage at $450,000.
