Nicholls man busted with drugs in Lyneham car park

By johnboy - 22 April 2012 3

Members from City Station seized substances suspected to be drugs, drug paraphernalia and money after executing an emergency search of a vehicle in Lyneham this morning (Sunday, April 22).

About 12.30am general duty officers observed a man in a stationary vehicle in a Lyneham carpark. Upon speaking to the man, they saw what appeared to be illegal substances contained in clear bags in the car in plain view.

An emergency search was conducted on the vehicle. Police seized quantities of substances suspected to be methyl-amphetamine and MDMA, drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

A 22-year-old Nicholls man was arrested, taken to the ACT Watch House and charged with trafficking in controlled drugs and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime. He will face ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, April 23.

This is yet another example of where someone needs to translate ACT Policings press releases from “police” into plain English.

Then another someone to convert the plain English into Riot-Speak.

A dude with some party drugs is an “emergency?”. While just kilometres away a naked guy was trying to put his sausage in an egg mcmuffin?

I assume “emergency search” relates to the legal justification (not having a warrant) rather then the situation being an emergency.
