Elections ACT have punched the numbers and Nicole Lawder will be joining the Liberals in the Legislative Assembly as Zed mooches off into the sunset to await his go in the Senate (Unless bitter Gaz boosters do him down for Simon Sheikh):
The names of the candidates who applied to contest the vacancy and the final results of the count-back to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Mr Zed Seselja from the ACT Legislative Assembly are attached.
Canberra Liberals candidate for Brindabella Ms Nicole Lawder received a majority of preferences after Mr Seselja’s votes were distributed by computer count this afternoon.
UPDATE: Zed has tweeted his congratulations:
Congratulations to @nicolelawder on her election to the Assembly. I know Nicole will do a great job for Brindabella #canberra #actpol

Meanwhile Jeremy Hanson has issued a statement of congratulations:
ACT Opposition Leader Jeremy Hanson has congratulated Nicole Lawder on being elected as the new Brindabella representative for the Canberra Liberals.
“The Canberra Liberals were extremely fortunate to have such a high calibre of candidates for the 2012 Election,” Mr Hanson said.
“Ms Lawder has been a Canberra resident since 1988, and during this time she has held a number of roles in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
“Most recently Ms Lawder has held the position of CEO of Homlessness Australia.
I consider her to be one of Australia’s greatest advocates for the homeless, and she will bring a range of new skills to our Party.
“Ms Lawder will make a great addition to the Canberra Liberals team and I look forward to working with her,” Mr Hanson concluded.
