The CT has this story about a draft ACT Health report telling us the ACT will run out of nurses in the next 5 years.

Simon Corbell is choosing not to comment on the report (which he commissioned) until after he’s read it, and I’m guessing after he’s had a chance to spin it around a bit.

People don’t want to do the work for the money you can offer them better pay, or better conditions.

It’s really simple.

Who needs nurses anyway? The way things are going, none of us will have time to fall ill anymore because we’ll all be propping up the economy by staying in the workforce until we’re 75!

Bloody ignorant bugger, that ear-ring boy. Needs a close encounter with a spray can!

Shame there’s not going to be another election for a while. Mind you, he’ll probably still get back in.

Theres plenty of nurses, they just leave the business because the work is so preposterously unrewarding. I’m talking financially, socially and professionally. I have friends going on to insurance call desks rather than spend another day not making good on an intensive three year university degree in a medical discipline.
