No Wank By 2010

By RandomGit - 8 April 2005 5

I had to watch a speech in civic square today about Urban Services and their initiative, no waste by 2010. This speech was given by a perky blonde who looked like she went through more foundation and hairspray than a brothel full of immigrant prostitutes. Not to mention the slightly aged offsider with the shiny complexion whose botox therapy probably discards enough hypodermics to inoculate Africa against TB.

Then I have to listen to these corporate wannabes tell me how much the environment loves what they are doing. Well, if I wasn’t such a asshole my kidney would have throbbed at this point. I’m not sure about the environment but I’m sure about the Revolve idler who gladly takes my twelve bucks for a tin of DISCARDED paint. Why bother?

They’ve given you a conscience and locked down the resource that would assuage the guilt it brings.

Create the desire. Assert obligation. Charge admission.

F***ing vultures.

What’s Your opinion?

Just for bias sake.. is there anybody actually ‘for’ No Waste by 2010?

Anybody who thinks the government made a wise move by closing the belco tip?

Anybody who thinks closing the belco tip will set ‘No waste by 2010’ back at all?

No waste by 2010? Yeah right. And they closed Revolve at Belconnen because it was costing to much to run!

Personally, I liked Revolve, all my back yard is courtesy of Revolve, bricks, lattice, even my whole pergola, bought second hand from Revolve.

And yet the Government in its wisdom closed it down. Now we have rubbish dumped by the side of the road, and that means fridges, car tyres, furniture, you name it, and they talk about no waste?

Give me a break. Its got nothing to do with no waste and everything to do with the government absolving itself from a core responsibility of local government.

Any government program which requires action only after the life of the parliament which begat it should be viewed with intense suspicion.

one which requires massive changes to the lives of the citizens and which provides no tangible benefits doubly so.

Yeah i saw them rambling on about some crap, i didnt see the skank tho, if only i knew….

oh well, all i saw was a bunch of plastic bags on what looked like a clothes line, plus a whole bunch of those green bags on display and i figured ‘the hippys are spreading propaghanda’

ok maybe that was abit harsh. but the fees and charges they have at the only dump in canberra are ridiculous. they’re trying to make us greener and trying to save the environment.. they’re blackmailing us into using their services. its simply a monopoly, their money-green minds trying to turn the tip into a revenue raising facility. its a disgrace.

one posative thing they have been doing is trying to clear civic of cigarette butts, which is great news because its free!, (btw i am a smoker)

im actually very very surprised more people are not dumping their rubbish anywhere… what happens if somebody had 15 ancient computers to get rid of, plus 15 busted monitors to match… i think they charge $10-$15 per peice of hardware, i havnt even checked the charges for old car batterys and old engine oil….. i think im too scared i am going to lose my temper when i am told!
