Nobody "liked" your business? Never fear you can just lie about it

After listing Canberra’s top 100 most “liked” things, Canberra Centenary have just produced a handy resource for companies and events that nobody likes.

You can now print out a poster provided by the centenary and claim you/your business/your band/your cat/your drug habit is the 101st favourite thing in Canberra, with all the authority of the centenary and the ACT government behind your claim.

See below image for example of how this may be abused.

Seriously, people like me spitting in your ear almost as much as they like the Laksa at Dickson.

You HAVE to try this.

We wanted to make it easy for all those and any others who think they deserve it to nominate themselves as the 101st reason to like Canberra, which was how the poster idea came about. It’s another way for individuals and businesses to promote themselves and the top 100 list.

Can you please explain the process so we understand? Exactly how much tweaking was there, and by whom? How come Charnwood was dropped off the list? Which person was given the authority to do that, and what was the process that led to that decision? Exactly how many changes were made to the original list – e.g., exactly what number of the “raw” original 100 are still there? Were ALL the cultural institutions on the original list, or were some of them added in?
And lastly, where on Earth did you out-of-town PR contractors get “Garema Place Carousel” from? It’s the “Civic Merry-Go-Round”!

Cat got your tongue?
Sure looks as though Robyn Archer’s little Canberra Centenary PR correspondent has “engage on social media only when it suits, and for a one-way communication” on his or her contract!

Aside from the list being a stupid idea in the first place, the fact that half of the list is just the other half said some other way so the line down the bottom should be number fifty something.

Seriously “Telstra tower” and “Seeing black mountain tower” is not two different things….perhaps you would like to use a name consistently. “Best of city & bush living”=”bush capital” and so on.

The whole 100 years celebration was a big fizzer, thanks for making the celebration of 100 years of Canberra a memorable failure. turds

People who use a circle rather than a dot as the tittle on an ‘i’ clearly have too much time on their hands.

I could make you a poster telling you that putting a circle above the letter i is Canberra’s 101st favourite thing if you’d like?

It’s a bit like a burger with no aoli!

The air is better in Canberra, you just can’t get air anywhere else.

Stuff the Centenary, it was such a great opportunity, wrecked by a cheap skate government and a hack of an organiser.

Let’s look back at Archer’s credentials: http://youtu.be/yk9D2extcvc?t=18s

LOL that has to be one of the top 100 quotes re Canberra 100. Thanks for the laugh 🙂

thank you Statler and Waldorf

Isn’t this Centenary crap becoming just a little bit tiresome? The 100 “Most Liked” list was an embarrassment, this latest effort is just pathetic. We had the 100th birthday on 12 March, why is this lame old dog still limping along?

The centenary has provided many great and enjoyable events to Canberra and its visitors this year. Alas, this 100 most liked list is just plain embarrassing.
