North Lyneham knife robbery

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery in North Lyneham last night (Tuesday, December 27).

Around 5.40pm, a man entered the Mini Mart supermarket at the North Lyneham shops and threatened a staff member with a knife. He demanded money and attempted to open the cash register, however was unsuccessful.

He left the supermarket and was last seen walking along Cossington Smith Crescent. No cash or property was stolen from the supermarket.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170cm (5’6”) tall with an average build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and light coloured pants.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the attempted aggravated robbery last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

quite often the people who own/run this shop have their toddler child with them behind the counter. i hope she wasn’t there when this happened. if the thieving scuzz is local to the area they would know this which makes them even more scuzzy than the normal scuzz.

What else do we know about this character? Caucasian ,170cm, average build , black hoodie. Attempted robbery. Walked away empty-handed. Sound similar to the guy who earlier in the year attempted the same thing. Hey fella’s the cash register won’t open! Perhaps he’ll drop in for some milk tomorrow. Get the squad. Car ready.
