To ensure the continued safety of motorists and other road users, both northbound lanes of the Gungahlin Drive bridge over the Barton Highway at Crace will be temporarily closed for maintenance over the coming weekend.

The well-used road will be closed from 7 pm on Friday the 2nd of February till 6 am, Monday the 5th of February 2018, weather permitting.

The closure will allow for two expansion joints to be replaced on the bridge as well as road resurfacing of the northbound lanes, which is part of the ongoing 2017-18 Transport Canberra and City Services Bridge Bearing replacement program.

Motorists and road users already travelling north on Gungahlin Drive will be detoured to use the off-ramp via the Barton Highway exit and then re-enter the Barton Highway at the traffic lights by turning right to gain access onto Gungahlin Drive via the on-ramp.

Motorists and road users on the Barton Highway will be detoured into Bellenden Street and will be required to perform a U-Turn. Motorists will then travel along the Barton Highway (southbound) and enter Gungahlin Drive via the on-ramp.

Roadside signage will alert road users to the changed traffic arrangements.
