So, we’re going to have a go at something new.

If you’ve got any public notices you’d like to make, a personal, any classified style thing you want people to know about… Basically anything you want to get out there but isn’t a big enough deal to be a story all on its own, you can now email it in to notices@the-riotact.com and we’ll post them all as a single story on Saturday mornings.

Free of charge, but we reserve the right not to post material that is indecent, defamatory, or in any way illegal.

250 words max.

Thanks Sammy 🙂

Fieldforce.

They read the meters in the ACT. Nothing ‘sus about it.

hes planning to build a dragstrip in your driveway…

It’
s a question – I wondered if it was a bit suss.

Presumably seepi wanted to submit it in your unclassifieds but didn’t read the bit that said “email it in to notices@the-riotact.com“.

It’s a ‘notice’ to inform residents that you should always enure your friendly meter reader is wearing a reflective vest, carrying a screwdriver and drives around in nsw plated vehicle with a fastforce logo on the door.

Seepi, what the hell is this comment doing here?

Meter Reading:
Has anyone had their meter read recently.
I came home to a guy in a reflective vest wandering down my driveway with a big screwdriver.
He said he was reading the meter.
He hopped in a small white car with nsw plates, and a logo like ‘fastforce’ on the door.
Anywone else had them round?

Oh, lovely. I missed that.

I guess I’ll now be a criminal. Funny thing, for me, I have chipped my X-box so I can copy all my (legal) games to Hard Drive (Faster, and easier to replace than the DVD drive). I own all the games on my HD.

Yet I can still be a criminal. Go me. or something.

Modchipping used to be legal; the ACCC even filed an Amicus Curae brief arguing for it during the court case of the Qld guy Sony sued.

However, see this article; I think it spells the end of people softmodding their consoles.

apparently updating the OS is illegal…

Modchipping is legal. It will void your warrenty.

What may be illegal is what you do after you modchip something.

much appreciated all, will try my luck.

cheers

Mod chipping is legal for the PS2 as it is used to unlock region free DVD player, not 100% sure about the Xbox, but it should be ok because it allows you to play “back-ups” of games you have purchased

well mail the question in as a notice and we’ll see who gets back to you hmm?

quick question – I can’t remember if modchipping is legal these days? Need to get my xbox done.
