Here are this week’s RiotACT Notices.

If you would like a notice posted email up to 250 words to notices@the-riotact.com

RiotACT reserves the right to decline any notice.

Come and see Gershwin’s Crazy For you as performed by the Roo Theatre Company!

The musical is set in the 1930s and involves lots of brilliant tap dancing, classic Gershwin songs including I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me and Someone To Watch Over Me, and the saxophonic styling of Kerces in the orchestra.

The show is on at the Harbour Theatre on Addison St, Shellharbour which is just two and a half hours from Canberra (or three if you’re a conservative driver). There’s plenty of great eateries along the street and with school holidays ended, lots of freed-up accommodation if you want to stay the night.

Crazy For You: 28 April and 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12 May, shows at 8pm and 2pm matinees on Saturdays.
Tickets: adult $22 concession $18 and group booking discount price $18.

Phone 4297 2891 for bookings or more information.

Ya gotta be kidding me Al – there were 100 (european) wasps per minute leaving the bloody nest! After getting several quotes between $115 – $190 for larger scale commercial operations, had the job done by Hart Pest Management for $60. Hell of a nice bloke, too (not advertorial, just a satisfied customer.)

OK so Al how do I get rid of 3 possums – front, side and back of house living in the trees and shrubs and fighting at the boundary, which runs across my roof???? Any advice?

Wasps – any sort:
Get rid of them yourself – get a candle and a can of fly spray. At night time when all the little buggers are home, spray the spray just above the candle to make a “flame thower” (practice elsewhere first).
The flame thrower takes their wings off so they can’t chase you (believe me they WILL chase you given a chance, so dress up well), and the fly spray finishes the job. Then drown the nest in flame. Easy peasy.

el – you’ll have to pay for your own pest control on that one. Should be about $50, I had one myself 2 years ago.

el – every phone number for Canberra
Connect services is the same anyway (they are all in the front of the white pages), so just ring them, and they will put you thru to whoever.

Update on the Crazy For You notice — apologies to everyone planning on coming down for the Wednesday May 9 show, because it turns out there isn’t one on that night after all. You’ll just have to come the following Friday instead.

HELP – I know this thread might not be entirely approprate, but I didn’t want to submit a new ‘News’ item just for this:

Who do I contact to report/have removed a European Wasp’s nest?

Canberra Connect website isn’t entirely helpful. I’m guessing the City Ranger but I can’t seem to find a phone number through Whitepages etc…

Yes, but can it be a stickie at the top of the page without an intro?

Good idea JB – beats the Saturday crapifieds in the Crimes.

Actually I was rather pleased with it for the first week.

If you notice this notice, you will notice that this notice is not worth noticing.

XBMC you can do over the net. But you need the chip first
