CRI English has a report of the People’s Liberation Army band venturing to the West for the first time to play with our own Royal Military College band:

The People’s Liberation Army band has begun rehearsals with its Australian counterpart in the Australian capital.

As CRI’s Wang Xiao reports, this is part of a culture and friendship event being held in Canberra.

The rehearsals between the PLA and the Australian Defense Force bands have taken place at the Royal Military College of Australia in Canberra.

This is the first time the PLA has attended a culture and friendship week in a western country.

The concert they’ll be putting on is just one of a number of events being held this week in Canberra.

The first composition the two bands rehearsed was the Ode to the Motherland, which is well known in every Chinese household.
