ACT Policing has been asked to keep a look out for a man who escaped from a NSW jail late last week and may flee into Canberra.
Trevor Ryan, 20, escaped from the Mannus Correctional Facility in Tumbarumba around 4.30pm on Thursday, July 14. Since his escape, NSW Police believe that he is responsible for the attempted kidnapping of a 5-year-old girl and the wounding of a woman.
Ryan had previously resided in the ACT and may return.
ACT Policing warns members of the public not to approach Ryan as he is considered violent and dangerous. He is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 177cm (5’10”) tall, of medium build, with brown eyes, and black hair shaved on both sides.
If he is identified, police urge members of the public to call ACT Police Operations on 131-444.
If anyone has information leading to the whereabouts of Ryan, they are urged to contact ACT Police Operations on 131-444.
