OPEN CALL: ‘Community Cabaret Act’ Talent Wanted for AIDS Action Council Event

aidsactionact 9 July 2013

The AIDS Action Council of the ACT is holding our first Cabaret night on the 21 September 2013 on the famous stage of Tilley’s in Lyneham.

Think classy, think edgy, think fun, think glamorous!

We’re looking for entries from the ACT community to be part of our lineup for this year’s AIDS Action Council Cabaret event. The winner will share the stage with some of the region’s finest professional talent in what promises to be a titillating night.

So, whatever your talent—singing, dancing, yodeling, ventriloquism, snake charming, or almost anything else really, this may be your chance to star in front of an audience of 250 of some of Canberra’s most fabulous people, hosted by an Australian icon and on one of Canberra’s most elegant stages.

Show us how fabulous you are and upload a 30-second video clip of your talent to our Facebook page and who knows, you may become a star.

All proceeds of the night benefit the programs of the AIDS Action Council of the ACT.

The fine print: Submissions must be received by 11:59pm on 31 July 2013. Videos over 30 seconds or containing nudity, gore or coarse language will not be considered. Entrants must provide their own transportation and accommodation to the show in Canberra. We will review all clips before publishing them and all material submitted becomes property of the AIDS Action Council of the ACT and may be used for promotion and/or edited as the Council sees fit. The winner will be chosen at the sole discretion of the staff of the AIDS Action Council of the ACT and be contacted through their Facebook. If no entry is deemed appropriate by Council staff, a winner may not be chosen. If you have any questions feel free to call Robbie at the Council on 02 6257 2855 or by email at
