Out of Grech

I just heard some interesting local gossip, that is, Godwin Grech is selling his Calwell home and leaving Canberra. The story has even made the national dailies (see HeraldSun.com.au).

With Malcolm Turnbull also out of the spotlight, Grech’s departure sees that last year’s “Utegate” scandal did indeed claim a couple of political scalps, just not the ones Turnbull was hoping for.

Mike Boyle from LJ Hooker Tuggeranong has the listing, which can be seen on allhomes. Commenting on Grech’s listing Boyle told the HeraldSun, “He’s committed to selling. He wants to be with relatives.”

It is understood he will be moving to the Altona area in Melbourne where he was raised.

It’s probably a bit unfair to criticise too much at this point, so best wishes to Mr Grech for his future away from Canberra.

Wow. Some kinds of obsessions there. A blogger in another place has commented on some of the books on display. Perhaps unfairly.

I must admit that I sniggered at the OTT furniture and the pious artworks. I too thought about PJK with all those clocks.

What’s the thinking behind wrapping the garden hose around the outdoor furniture? I’ve never seen that before.

All those antique-looking clocks…

Wannabe Liberal powerbroker AND a wannabe Keating??

Byaddifull, maaaate. Where I sign to buy for Toolah??

I see plenty to criticise, but none of it to do with emails…

It was in the Canberra Times on Sunday. The end of a memorable chapter in Australia’s political history. Maybe Turnbull will buy it as a memento of his brief stint as Opposition leader?

the house isn’t bad, I would be making sure that he would be taking the furniture with him when he sold it if I was purchasing it. I guess people have their own tastes..
