Own a bike and like to ride?

Then the Brindabella Challenge is for you! The Brindabella Challenge is the largest variety cycling event in Australia and is a first for the ACT.

Taking place over the weekend of 2-4 December 2005, the event involves all disciplines of cycling; road biking, mountain biking and BMX plus entertainment and activities for spectators.

Race around Civic in the Criterium, ride out to a winery for lunch or let the kids enjoy a fun ride around Old Parliament House. These are just three out of the 15 events taking place during the Brindabella Challenge, there is a race or ride for all bike lovers of all ages and all levels of fitness.

The weekend is structured so riders can enjoy more than one race or ride across a number of disciplines.

Races start and end in two central locations; the Event Hub, on the lawns of Old Parliament House, and the second is in the heart of Civic. Satellite events also take place in the Brindabellas and the Canberra BMX Park.

We challenge you to race or ride in the Brindabella Challenge!

I know it’s fun to throw around perjoratives but the reason that the Urban Polaris and Brindabella Challenge are on the same weekend is that this year, the Urban Polaris is being put on as _part_ of the Brindabella Challenge.

For more info on the Urban Polaris see http://www.wildhorizons.com.au/urban/ – it’s a lot of fun, I did it last year.

Thanks Thumper – must confess the irony brought a small Costello-like smirk to my face when I found this.

The Urban Polaris thing sounds cool Kramer – where do I find out more about that? (You’d think they’d slot in together relatively well)

Awesome idea for an event, pity the fools tasked with scheduling it have put it on the same weekend as the Urban Polaris (urban cycle navigation/orienteering competition) which has been held in Canberra for the last 4 years.
