A hostel in Belconnen has been evacuated tonight following a fire.
ACT Fire & Rescue responded with multiple units to the Villaggio San Antonio Hostel in Street Page when the alarm was raised at 7:09pm.
Crews arrived to find a fire had occured in a room of the premises but it had already been extinguished by an automatic sprinkler system.
Residents and staff were safely evacuated.

The ACT Ambulance Service is currently assessing a total of nine patients for the possibility of minor smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have started in a motorised mobility chair. One block of the hostel has sustained smoke and water damage.

ACT Fire & Rescue has confirmed a total of 13 residents were evacuated from the block affected by the fire only.
ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics will be transporting three patients to Calvery Hospital in stable conditions. A fourth patient is still being assessed.
Alternative accommodation is being arranged for the other affected residents.
