Most 4WD drivers are arrogant and couldn’t care less about anyone else. Mind you, I say “most”. I have had the pleasure of a courteous one once. She was in the inside lane at the roundabout and of course, I couldn’t see past her. She let the vehicle roll back a bit so I could see past her. Amazing.

Holy crap! F*ck the Obama shit, THAT is newsworthy.

Unfortunately like many things you read on the net, Brianna’s claim of courtesy like that from a Canberra 4WD owner is just too unbelievable to be taken seriously.

Dead serious guys! Happened at the Barton Highway roundabout when I was on my way to work one day. Happened in winter and obviously I am still amazed by it!

Dont you know that 4WD owners have the right to do whatever they want. Park however they want, runover whatever they want, never indicate and just run everything smaller than them off the road etc.

Hey if you’re the idiot in the right hand lane sitting under the speed limit I will ride your arse until you move. If you have your indication on and only move into a turn off lane at the last minute I will ride your arse. If you don’t know how to merge off a merge lane then don’t friggen whinge about 4WDers.
It just looks more intimidating in a 4WD.

Please walk to the nearest RTA office and give back your license.

with a bit of luck, someone will break suddenly, then you’ll be liable for the damages for failure to maintain a safe distance.

Sh, it thinks it’s a motorbike. We tell it that it has just got big bones.

not that we needed another reason to give 80s landcruisers w/ yellow plates a wide berth

Why is there a raised part there anyway?

Very good question.

From my flimsy memory, one of either the left or right bays may be a loading zone and the other one isn’t. I definitely recall that everybody ignores all the signs anyway.

I think there may also have been a tree right where the front tyre is (you can see it’s pair on the other side of the road) but it was pulled out or judging from this possibly run over by someone and was never replaced.

That’s probably more “off road” action than most of canberra’s 4wd owners.

You wouldn’t want to own that car for much else than its offroad ability.

is it Al’s truck? He owns the joint

One day, the drivers were confronted with two poles cemented into the ground at the beginning to the footpath leading into the park.

hehe reminds me of a story from a friend at my old place.

The garbage collectors always left the bins in the gutter of the road. Someone would come down just after, and punt them all away with their car (damaging the bin and whatever it landed on). So he went out early, and filled the bin with bricks. Never happened again

I wish I was a 4wd

We had three of them using the park at the end of our street as a shortcut to their own street.

It was fun watching them turning around at the top of the street and heading to their street the long way.

Why is there a raised part there anyway?

Legality aside, the driver in the photo could be “creating room” for other drivers?

Yeah, like they create room for the rest of the world with their overweight and obnoxious monster trucks.
