Hey Rioters, Riotesses, and Rioteers!

Not that we’ve all partied down at a bunch of weddings over the weekend, let’s get down to some serious parking business.

It’s time for another dose of poor parking.

If you’ve got some shots you’d like to share send them to images@the-riotact.com, make sure to use the word parking in the subject and to let us know what name you would like to be credited with.

1. Sheep Groper kicks us off with his rather impressive haul this week:

As well as Old Faithful the chemist, I was wrestling a shopping trolley out of the new Pet Barn
in Weston Creek to find a gentleman parked right in the driveway, assorted people park right
opposite the entrance to the Woden shopping centre, another gentleman saw fit to block a
laneway in Civic, and a lady parked in front of the Tax loading dock.

Sometimes I feel, strange as it seems, you've been in my dreams all my life. Let's hope our prayers are in good hands tonight. I love when you do that hocus pocus to me, You give me that look. It's almost unreal. She's got the world on a string. I know what love can do. Waiting to catch the big one. I've gotta take it oh so serious.

2. Johnboy caught this one while having a nice dinner without me:

From Dickson, outside Jimmy’s.

She's my baby and I'm feeling alright.

3. Harold discovers something:

Apparently hazard lights make a difference…

It has to be a big thing, it's bringing me to my knees.

4. Coffeedrinkingpedestrian made it better:

This car with trailer was considerately taking up 4 parks in the pay carpark behind the Edmund Barton builing on Macquarie St. The carpark was completely full (the empty spots in the background are in a private section of the carpark) which makes it even worse.

When you've found your man, make sure he's for real.

5. Kim is doing some research:

Snapped at ANU, where parking properly is purely academic!

I've passed by the houses and blocks I once knew.

6. Holden Caulfield found an amusing parking photo that isn’t about bad parking:

Noah’s Park: I saw these cars in Kingston this morning and started singing to myself: The cars parked in two by two hurrah, hurrah!

That's the game, and the pain stays the same.

7. CC scored these for us:

A rich source of parking snafu is the carpark of the ANU Parking Office, where even ANU parking inspectors can’t park properly.

Trying to make it little by little. What you gonna tell your mother?

8. Loxmyf assembled this collection for you:

Some more people who think they are more important than the next guy.

Look sharp!

The old chestnut Jamison.

I'm gonna get dressed for success.

And behind the child care centre.

For your love.

Belconnen Mail Centre, across the road.

A little piece of heaven turns to dark.

And at Belconnen Westfield.

Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.

9. Psychopoesie looks on the bright-side:

At the ANU on Tuesday, this driver decided to take up two parking spots to protect the shiny new car finish. At least it was easy to find a park at this time of year.

There's nothing else you can do. I don't know where you're going, and I don't know why.

10. Allen ends this:

Weird looking motorcycle… (Closest spit to the door)

Walking like a man, hitting like a hammer, she's a juvenile scam, never was a quitter, tasty like a raindrop, she's got the look.

What’s wrong with #4?
Would you rather he park normally with the trailer sticking out stopping people from driving past?

Perhaps the issue is that that carpark has drive through spots in other areas, so they could have happily parked across two spots, instead of four. If they were early enough in to park in that position, they were earlier enough to park a little further away, without inconveniencing three other people. I wonder whether he should have to buy four parking tickets if that’s how you get to roll.

Or he could have parked the trailer, removed it from the car and parked the car next to it.

Think of it as a summer hiatus.

How about a “Best Of” series to keep us amused before the hols kick in?

Thanks will do. Looking forward to a bumper crop to kick off 2014, haha!

5pm on a Monday, have we seen the demise of the RA parking juggernaut?

Think of it as a summer hiatus.

It’s actually Spotto on 1d, 1h, 5 AND 7b!

Hence the generic spotto :p

I hang my head in shame. I thought you were referring only to #1.

What a shocking debacle! It’s almost as bad as saying Spotto when one sees an orange car.

After a good week last week, this weeks parking photos came back to Earth with a loud thud.

Loxmyf and Sheep Groper – you have too much time on your hands. Perhaps a career as a parking inspector beckons.

Pic 4 – what’s a trailer supposed to do?

And Pic 9 highlights it’s own downfall. It’s whinging for whingings sake… I don’t think parking at ANU is at a premium in December.
