Parkes, the place for...soccer

No need for that futsal slab, or the lush lawns of the Parliamentary precinct. This group of bare chested young lads (backpackers?) decided Parkes was a nice place to stop their van and kick a soccer ball around, for a good half hour, on this autumn day.

As you do.

Yeah – if it is Treasury, then there’s a few acres of lush lawn between there and John Gorton Building, or across the road at the National Library.

Donno…the grass around Parkes is pretty lush!

I don’t blame them seeing as though all the ovals around are all dried up with dead grass or weeds.

Suprising that they didnt get told to move along..

Posssibly the most uninteresting thing ever posted on RiotACT. Ever.

Good lord, people playing football in the street? Whatever next!

No wonder you lost to Italy with that attitude! I joke, i joke!

My cousin is a soccer nut, and works in the Treasury building. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was somehow involved in this.

Is that the front of the Treasury building?

Clearly, they’re terrorists, just using “soccer” as a ruse so they can reconnoiter whatever government building that snap was taken from.

Call the hotline! I bet the van is full of surveillance equipment!

In the background are the grid markings and pit bay markings of the late, and missed, Canberra 400… Those were the good old days

Above question was in jest – I dont smoke or have window views @ work – I am jealous.

I cruise RA on my breaks – and any other time I am waiting for a substantial excel query to run.

Have not had a gasper since 31/12/06

Stopping for 5 mins to hang a camera out the window hardly constitutes nothing better to do…

Traditionally, it would be called a smoke break equivalent for us non-smokey types.

Assuming you were the photographer begs the question : Did you have nothing better to do at work ?
