Mingo has sent in this gem of a parking effort under the subject “Definitely not disabled” with this note:

This was taken in civic on Mort Street.

Quality act of decency by a bogan man waiting to pick-up his bogan wife after work.

Is that a magic happens sticker on the tailgate?

The placement of the sticker on the rear window indicates a valid intellectual disability.

Looks like his standing and not parking. Nothing wrong with that

Not so.

Australian Road Rules 203(1) A driver must not stop in a parking area for people with disabilities {… unless displaying permit blah blah…}

I love a good bogan bash but isn’t this driver standing, and not parked.

Agreed! Looks like his standing and not parking. Nothing wrong with that (or is your gripe that it’s a white Commodore)

I know in the recent thread about loading zones the wording of the law meant that “standing” in one isn’t allowed either. Is it the same for disabled spots?

Personally I reckon that unless it’s an emergency a sane driver would stay out of those spaces at any time.

Regardless of the law I agree.

Using the spot to do a three point turn?

Also, the user could be disabled.

You lot jumping to conclusions has made my morning! haha!

They are, but the OP may also have watched for several minutes and seen the entire process described – the waiting for and picking up of wife. Although if there was a disabled pass on the dash then the angle is the only bad part.

Disabled parking permits are displayed on the cars windscreen or dash – neither of which is visible from this angle.

Personally I reckon that unless it’s an emergency a sane driver would stay out of those spaces at any time.

Yeah, I was getting ready to vent about inconsiderate bogans but I have to agree, if he’s just pulling in there to pick up the missus then there’s really no harm being done here.

Yes he may well be disabled – but he shouldn’t block the no parking area that other disabled people may well need to use though should he.

and completely selfish and self centred to boot….. Where are the ticket nazis when you want them.

Hang on, I thought something was wrong with this photo, both tail and plate lights are working WTF?

I hope that’s a Stone Cold Steve Austin skull.

Ticking all the boxes.

Presumably champ is still cranky that they ran out of “unit” stickers so he had to settle for a skull.

Retarded, but not disabled.

Wow, a white commodore ute.
