It feels like it has been forever since I did a Monday Parking post on an actual Monday.
Is it odd that I feel vaguely nostalgic about it?
It is, right?
Damn.
At any rate we have a bunch of terrible parks for your to frown at this week, and also a surprising amount of free publicity for the circus.
If you’ve got any parking photos you’d like to see grace the pages of this site, send them to images@the-riotact.com, and be sure to let us now what name you would like to be credited with and use the word “parking” in the subject line.
1. BlueTongie starts us off right with a classic find:
These photos were taken in Moore St, Civic on Thursday morning. Several riders turned up in the short time I was there to glare at the car, before roaring off to find another park.
Perhaps the sign isn’t clear enough.
2. An anonymous Rioter gave us this:
Parked at the Jamieson car park on Sunday. Came back to the car to find a rav 4 “parked” next to me. Well played Sir.
3. Goggles13 caught this effort:
Spotted in the hellenic club carpark woden.
4. Gen would up in a bit of a bind:
On Saturday afternoon I parked in the car park next to the Canberra Theatre and went off to have lunch and do some shopping (Including perishables). To my disgust I returned to find this parked behind me making it extremely difficult to get out (Reversing straight out I would have hit their rear passenger door).
5. D poses a simple question:
Why bother with one parking space when you can take two?
6. Tony was paid to submit these:
Couple if shots of circus car parked right on intersection of Gungahlin and Gubdaroo Drive today.
Blatant advertising but surely some laws about parking on intersection? I got fined for parking a car for sale on path at Yerrabi Pond a few months ago!!
7. CC knows lazy when he sees it:
In the taxi rank, just after finishing a trip to Woolies judging by the bags. A quick stop at the ATM this wasn’t, with heaps of free spots nearby. Lazy.
8. Grant collected these:
First near ha ha bar, the other two in dickson. The cars in the actual disabled spots have permits, the taxi that was parked for some time, not so much.
9. Helen double checked just for you:
Photo taken at Kippax. Car was parked (I double checked that there was no one in the car) in a no parking zone. Must’ve been karma that made them leave their lights on.
10. Matt describes the timeline here:
Bike wasn’t there beforehand.
11. The ghost of Jack Lang returns to bring these images to you:
Here’s one from the Treasury car park on Langton Crescent. Small car, big overhang.
12. Johnboy spotted a blue BMW preventing access:
13. Holden Caulfield is also getting money from the circus:
I spotted this clown parking just off Canberra Avenue in Fyshwick last week.
14. Rafe takes a break from mooching to send us this picture
15. Davo101 has done the maths:
Tanah Rata, Pahang, Malaysia.
Not the best or worst parked car in Malaysia but perhaps average.
16. Tim_C has numbered his points:
But I know you want more….
The driver of this HDM Metal ute had committed at least four traffic offences, and would have had to commit at least one more to drive it away.
1- driving on wrong side of road
2- parked facing oncoming traffic
3- parked on footpath
4- parked blocking pedestrian crossing
And to drive away:
5- driving on wrong side of road
The “No Stopping” zone at the pedestrian crossing outside the Kingston Family Surgery seems to be as reliable as the discount chemist in Woden. This week is a double.
