Parking Woden style

woden parking

I spotted the poor attempt at parking in the attached photo this afternoon in Woden (just near the Cameron Offices).

Sadly, there was no yellow envelope on the Black Subaru.

weren’t the Cameron Offices in Belconnen? Do you mean Callam offices? Both are/were ugly buildings.

Not to defend the Subaru – but had the commodore been within the lines, and BMW a sensible distance from the commodore, it looks from the picture like there just may have been space for one more car in there

Still heaps of room to get that BMW out, so who cares? If they’ve paid for parking and there are no spaces left, why not?

the BMW was parked first, then the Commodore.

the space taken up by the BMW is wider than the others, but not enough for two cars. the kerbing on the left side curves in just in front of the subaru.

who cares….

Had you have sent in a pic of a car parked in a disabled spot with no permit diplayed, then id be a little more sympathetic to your cause. Otherwise, meh…

I don’t own the white BMW so have no personal interest in the parking of the black subaru.

however, with your attitude, all it takes is for one person to park in a non-space, lacking judgement and block another car in.

what would you do if, you owned the white BMW, and couldn’t get out, given there is no way of knowing the owner of the black subaru?

Moot point because the BMW can easily get out. It’d be a newsowrthy if Subaru guy was actualyl blocking someone.

Those lines are too narrow, and drivers are imperfect humans. Again, and again, and again, carpark builders have this habit of forgetting that cars have doors that open sideways, and paint the lines spaced only just far apart enough to fit the width of a car minus the doors.

Well the way i look at it, you had 5 options…
1) Ignore it, it doesnt concern you, not your business
2) waste 2 minutes of your life by taking a photo and sending it to get posted
3) leave a note on the window
4) Ring TAMS and report the car, tell them you are deeply distressed by this drivers actions, and as a rusult, are unable to sleep at night…they will send the officer in the area out there to issue a ticket.
5) leave a keyed message on their drivers side door..

I would have chosen one, if it didint affect me, followed by 5.

The lines are always going to be too narrow when you leave two and a half feet of space between your car and the line on the driver’s side.

And that is why you regularly see rows and rows of cars in carparks filled with people trapped inside.

Great, now the Libs are going to put out a media release that says, if elected, they will make parking spaces wider! Hahahaha!

Urinate on the black car, then let its tyres down and go catch a bus.

A normal person could back out of that spot, but I doubt a Canberra born driver could.

I see no issue here. In fact I think a greater injustice would be served by fining anyone here. And an equally bad injustice is the fact that the lines for the car parks are badly drawn and the gutter going in where a car should be.

I stand corrected.
