I am an undergraduate Psychology student at the Australian National University and I am seeking participants to take part in my road safety study.

The objective of the study is to explore factors that influence drivers’ perception of safety in urban and rural driving environments. Participants will be asked to complete a computer-based questionnaire which includes a photo-rating task. You will also be asked to answer questions about yourself and your behaviour while driving.

Eligible participants must:

  • Drive regularly in the ACT
  • Have an Australian drivers licence of a Class C only (car licence, and not a car and a riders licence).
  • Be aged 55-70 years

If eligible, you will be asked to attend the ANU Research Schoo of Psychology for a single 30-minute session (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday). You will be paid $10 in recognition for your participation.

The ethical aspects of this research have been approved by the ANU Human Research Ethics Committee (protocol: 2014/458).

If interested, please contact me (Jolene Cox) at u4892321@anu.edu.au.

If the “objective of the study is to explore factors that influence drivers’ perception of safety in urban and rural driving environments”, why only drivers aged 55-70?

Possibly the hardest demographic/population to obtain for their study? I imagine the other age groups would be relatively easy to find on a university campus.

So.. whats the parking like at the Schoo of Psychology

I would ride my bike there, or catch the bus.
