With the 10th anniversary of the 2003 bushfires tomorrow there’s a lot happening on top of Mount Stromlo.
The Centenary of Canberra in 2013 coincides with the ten year anniversary of the 2003 bushfires that devastated Canberra.
Scope Mount Stromlo is hosting an exhibition from January 18 2013 that will commemorate the destruction, recovery and renewal of fire affected areas from between 2003 to the present day.
The exhibition includes:
Historical information and artefacts donated by Mount Stromlo Observatory, including the remains of the original Oddie & Reynolds Telescopes.
Exhibits by ACT Fire Brigade Museum
Memorabilia & artefacts donated by community members
Art & Photography by community members
Personal recollections and expressions by community members
Multimedia Presentations – Newsreels and uncut footage, Films by Richard Schnassell

This is an ongoing – organic exhibition that will commence on January 18 and close on February 18 2013. Community groups & individuals will be welcome to add to the exhibits space with personal or group expressions at any time.
