Pedicure recommendations in Canberra?

Hello rioters,

My feet are in a rather dreadful state, I will not overshare the details except to note that the problems are aesthetic rather than infectious.

Can anyone recommend a place for a pedicure with nice staff who are not going to recoil at my dry skin and chipped nails and make me feel more self-conscious than I already am?

I’m female if that makes any difference. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions.
I will try a podiatrist to do the heavy lifting – and then a beauty place, because I’m assuming podiatrists don’t paint nails!

As a podiatrist I strongly recommend a visit to any of the excellent private podiatrists available.

Try Penelope of Beauty by Penelope in Civic, just near Cream:

There is nothing nicer than a good pedicure.

definitely see a podiatrist. my feet were, i am assuming, in a similar state and now they are perfect. I go to ACT podiatry in tuggers. http://www.actpodiatry.com.au/

I strongly dislike wearing socks to bed cos I need to wiggle my toes but if my feet get dry it’s really nice to put on some strong moisturiser and a pair of socks before bed then give them a good pumice in the morning.

Why have some stranger recoil in horror when you can do it yourself?

Yes, definitely go to a podiatrist to get your feet summer-ready. Highly recommend Simon Lim at Footcare in Woden 02 6285 1155. Also, buy some NS8 from the chemist – great stuff for cracked heels.

I would still recommend a podiatrist. They will do a better job, use clean tools and you should get a rebate if you have private health cover. The Walking Clinic in Lyneham is fairly reasonable.
